About James Marshall
James Marshall was born in Medicine Hat. His artistic endeavours include a large output of ceramics, both functional and decorative. Later on in his career he developed a unique style of murals, carving clay bricks to depict an event or a montage of different facets of life on the prairies. His painstaking pen and ink drawings feature the prairie landscapes and the coulees of Alberta to the Anazasi dwellings of the southwestern USA. Now in his 70's, he continues to produce murals, for installation in Medicine Hat and throughout Canada and the northern United States.
